Ventura Collaborative Divorce and Mediation

Wouldn't it be nice to avoid the pain, loss of privacy, expense and increase of hostilities that so often accompany addressing divorce, custody, support and other family problems by litigating in court?  Everyone knows someone with a horror story to tell about an unsuccessful, bitter and expensive attempt to resolve a problem by using expensive, highly trained attorney/litigators attempting to sway or manipulate all facts in their client's favor.  Often, the truth and a successful resolution of the problem can be achieved by clearly focusing on the needs of both parties and looking for resolutions "outside of the box."  I am a strong and experienced believer in collaborative family law having helped start the Ventura County branch of the Ventura Collaborative Professionals in 1999.  Since then I have resolved hundreds of divorces and custody cases with the assistance of legal colleagues who are members of our group.  We are all attorneys and family law professionals dedicated to protecting your rights without losing control to an overworked court system.

Collaborative divorce is an innovative and effective way to settle dissolution of marriage actions in a dignified and private manner. Collaborative Family Law is a divorce resolution process in which the attorney and the parties work together to resolve your case without legal conflict or court battles. The attorneys employ non-adversarial techniques to open discussion of the facts and interest-based negotiations to clear the air, generate options and create a positive context for settlement. Collaborative law protects your rights and allows you and your spouse to make important decision that affect you, your children, and your marital state without losing control to an overworked court system. The "collaborative technique" emphasizes mutual respect, psychological awareness, and an innovative approach to complex family issues.

Stephen Mitnick is one of the charter members in the Ventura California legal community in the Collaborative Family Lawyers Association. The members in this group of approximately 20 "hand picked" attorneys are committed to creating and supporting you in an atmosphere where, given the circumstances, both clients will be satisfied with the quality of the process and with the settlement itself. The attorneys employ non-adversarial techniques to open discussion of the facts, and interest-based negotiations to clear the air, generate options, and create a positive context for settlement.
